How can virtual teams work well together when the team members are spread far apart?

The concept of virtual teams today are very common and the establishment of such teams have become more and more because of the communication facilities that we possess with the help of internet. I have been involved in virtual teams where I am based in Milwaukee while my many of team members are based out of India in a city named Bangalore. I have been working in this setup for almost 5 years and as a team we have been successful in achieving our objectives of the project. Internet technologies have helped us join and work as a team and high speed internet connectivity, email, cloud computing and video conference have been assisting us to establish connection and communication between the team members.
