TUBE FEEDING
Enteral feeding is food or drug administration via human gastrointestinal tract.enteral administeration involves esophagus,stomach and small intestines.
To minimize the risk of aspiration, patients should be fed sitting up or at a 30 to 45 degree semirecumbent body position.They should remain in the position at least one hour after feeding completed.
Nurse should inform their supervisor the patient having any complications such as nausa and vomiting, aspiration,tube malposition,tube clogging.
hand hygiene,patient identification,
check tube position,provide fowlers or sitting postion,check for any complications such as vomiting,aspiration etc.
record the procedure amount of feed ,type of feed,any complications.
