Explain why hearing loss, more than any other sensory losses, interferes with early development.
The first sense that develops in a baby is that of touch and this is followed by the sense of hearing since chronologically this is the next sense to develop is very important d the safety and normal development of the baby is dependent upon this sense. The hearing organs start to form when a fetus is just three weeks old, this leads to the formation of the neural circuits leading to the formation of the memory. Further things that we don’t even see as they are out of our sight can be heard. Thus we can protect ourselves when we hear a siren despite not seeing the danger. Hence the sense of hearing is very important.
