ten quick ways to analyze children’s books for sexism and racism" states: “[y]oung children are exposed to racist and sexist attitudes . . . expressed over and over . . . [which] gradually distort their perceptions until stereotypes and myths about minorities and women are accepted as reality.” do you agree with this quote? why or why not? explain.
In school or consider it to be anywhere young children are exposed to racist and sexist attitudes. When expressed over and over through books and in other places results in slowly distorting their thoughts until stereotypes and myths about women are accepted as reality. As it is difficult for a librarian or the teacher to assure children to question society’s attitudes. But if a child can be shown how to detect racism and sexism in a book, the child can proceed to transfer their perception to wider area and will better understand these stereotypes and it is well understood by the teachers about the perception about each child about the topic. As in case if they are asked about there thoughts before letting them know what exactly the topic is for about, maybe we will not be able to get the idea of thoughts for the topic.
