Emotional effects; include loneliness, guilt, and regret. Psychological consequences due to medical interventions that may be used in infertility include; fear and anxiety and worry, grief and depression.

Social effects; Infertility can lead to severe strain in a couples' relationship, (Schmidt, 2009).

Relationship; the relationship between couples may be on rocks due to infertility.

Infertility has a negative impact on women’s self-esteem in fact infertility kills our self-esteem. Generally, females with infertility have reported more negative emotions than men, including lower levels of self-esteem leading to a high level of depression, stress, anxiety, stigma, and shame, (Wischmann,‎2014
