The physician must be busy with time constraints so there is a lot of situations the nurse has to repair medical equipments. They are traimed in how to use it, but nurses should be prepared how to maintain or take care if that equipment.

Eg. The ultrasound machine stops working. Its not getting started.

The nurse can check for damage, missing screws or erosions or sometimes it can be due to dirt, cleaning the surfaces that comes in contact with patient regularly. Changing movable parts and checking for wiring etc will help in making it work.

Eg. Visualisation not proper in Ophthalmoscope

When a nurse is checking, it can be due to btoken glasses or due to lack of lubrication in the movable parts.

Likewise glucometer, BP apparatus, Ventilator if its due to small problems by carefully checking and using common sense the nurses are able to repair.
