If the correct training is available is there any down fall to technology? The only other one I could think of is that it could affect the personal nature of the clinician/ patient relationship.

Yes, there is downfall to technology even if correct training is available.

One of the technology development in medical field is Telemedicine which is the exchange of information from one site to another through electronic communications. It is done for the purpose of improving a person's health. Though advantages are there, it has some disadvantages.

The major disadvantage is, there is no face to face physical assessment between patient and clinician here, which is essential in some cases of illness and clinical diagnosis and cannot be diagnosed through telemedicine.

The other disadvantages are availability and cost. Everyone may not have access to telemedicine services.It is also expensive to setup and maintain especially for small health care facilities.

These are the few downfall of technology in medical field.
