Which population(s) is less likely to use health care services? Which population(s) is most likely to use health care services? Explain your answers.
It has been estimated that older adults (ages 65 and older) are more likely to make the full use of health care services while the young earning generation (ages from 15 to 45 years) are comparatively less likely to use health care services.
The math behind this difference is pretty simple and straightforwards. When a person grows older, he/she starts experiencing more health-related issues that require health care services like hospital admission and long-term care. On the other hand, their younger counterparts have fewer health-related problems. Older people are hospitalized more frequently and generally have longer lengths of stay than the younger population. Then there are so many facilities and coverage like Medicare provided exclusively to this elder population by the federal government which they make full use of.
