1. Authoritarian parenting: It is a type of parenting where parents raise the children with strict rules

2. Authoritative parenting: This is a type of parenting where parents raise their children with strict rules but allow them for open discussion

3. Permissible parenting: It is where the parents raise their children with minimal rules and have high responsiveness for them.

4. Uninvolved parenting: In this scenario parents will not involve in raising their children

Impact on children with authoritarian parenting

  • They are high in academic achievements
  • Obedient and disciplined
  • They grow up with good cultural values
  • The negative impact is that the child may develop stress and depression due to strict parenting

Impact on children with authoritative parenting:

  • Children will succeed academically and maintain healthy social connections
  • Children can have intimacy with their parents
  • These children can able to form their opinions
  • The negative impact is that the child may not obey their parents and become stubborn

Impact on children with permissible parenting:

  • Children share their feelings with their parents and become like friends
  • Parents can easily please their children
  • The negative impacts are, the child may not be well disciplined or well mannered, and lacks moral values

Impact on children with uninvolved parenting:

  • The children can make independent decisions and they are self dependent
  • They are more mature and handle the situations and overcome with it
  • The negative impact is that the child feels lonely and lacks self esteem, they develop disorders like anxiety and fear, and their is a high chance of addictions

Indicators of hearing loss in children are:

  1. Not responding to the loud sounds
  2. Not turning towards the sounds even after 6 months
  3. Turns the head if child sees parent but not with the sound
  4. Doesn't use his voice to get your attention
  5. The child will not make babbling sounds and doesn't respond to his/her name
  6. Not able to speak single words even after 1 year
  7. The child looks inattentive
  8. The baby don't smile when spoken to and cannot notice the toy sounds
