ranitidine for peptic ulcer disease:
1. smoking and alcohol consumption along with treatment with peptic ulcer disease will aggrevate the condition. this reduce the effect of ranitidine.
2. it inhibits h2 receptors in the parietal cells of gastric mucosa thereby decrease the production, voulme and concentration of hydrochloric acid or gastric acid.
3. ranitidine has to be administered on empty stomach probably in the morining 30 minutes before taking any food.
4. stomach cramps, headache, nausea, diarrhea, constipation and skin rashes.
5. foods that are spicy and fatty must be avoided. alcohol and caffenated drinks must be withhold while on ranitidine.
