Focus on balanced protein intake such as fish, lean meat and poultry, which contain protein and iron to help restore the iron reserves that you may have depleted during bleeding episodes. Non-heme iron sources include beans and other legumes, spinach and other vegetables , whole grains, and fortified cereals. More often, eat small meals until your digestive system recovers. Stop caffeine and spicy foods or restrict them. Evite foods that cause heartburn, nausea, or diarrhea too.
