Trichomoniasis:
Trichomoniasis is the infestation with the parasite of genus trichomonas.
METRONIDAZOLE:
It's an antibiotic used to treat wide variety of infections to stop the growth of bacteria and parasites(here trichomonas).
Taken per oral.

Mechanism of action of metronidazole:
It diffuses into the organism, inhibits protein synthesis by interaction with the DNA and causing a loss of helical DNA structure and strand breakage. Thus it causes cell death in the susceptible organism (here trichomonas).
