It involves three classifications for nutritional diagnosis-
Intake - this involves intake related problems.
In case of diabetes there will be an increased intake which might occur due to increase appetite.
Clinical- this involves medical or physical factor that can effect nutrion.
The patient may have increased chances of insulin and glucose dysfunction.
Patient appetite may increase which may result in imbalance and hence may result in imbalance of insulin and glucose.
Hemce small meals must be planned for the patient.
Behavioral -
There may be various behavioural changes that may be exhibited by the patient this involves improper dietary management.
Nutritional intervention-
Advice Patient to reduce fat intake.
Advice to reduce salt intake.
Advice the reduce glucose intake
Encourage patient to improve dietary intake and encourage patient not to skip meals.
Encourage patient to carry out hgt monitoring post meals.
Advice patient to take medication on time.
Encourage patient not to skip meals.
Nutritional monitoring may include-
Adequate amount of protein, vitamin and mineral adequate amount of dietic intake is essential.
