The markets had a very negative reaction to the news regarding the coronavirus outbreak. You, as the CFO of a large MNC, have responsibility for the financial stability of your company. What specific kind of information were you requesting from your direct reports? Why?
I would be looking for firm specific information in directors report as coronavirus outbreak has completely tarnished the prospect of the company in the short run as the physical operations are completely shut and it is expected to continue such in the long run because there is no vaccine yet.
the large multinational company will always have more risk associated with it as it is operating in various different countries so I would be expecting a direct report which would expect the degrowth of various segments of the business because this outbreak has impacted the business in a negative way.
I would also be looking that consumer demand would be substantially low because they are not able to purchase frequently as they are not allowed to go out
Overall I would be expecting a pressure on my books and shrinkage on my sales and profits in my direct reports.
