Can different methods achieve the same power distribution, if not why? Different methods do not achieve the same power distribution. The Newton-Raphson method gives a more reliable result compared to other methods, why?
**The different power distribution methods cannot achieve same power distribution because :
1)We need different sets of Voltage levels that needs to be distributed to target consumers having variable power requirements
2)Also at distribution ends we have various reactive compensation arrangement/devices that cause power being distributed to vary irrespective of distribution method being used to supply power!!
**The Newton-Raphson approach has various advantages. It has high convergence characteristics compared to alternative methods as it needs less number of iterations to solve and considerably low computing time to find solution for load flow problem over given power system. So having high convergence makes it more reliable method over others!!
