The generic supply chain begins with the sourcing and extraction of raw materials. The raw materials are then taken by a logistics provider to a supplier, which acts as a wholesaler. The materials are taken to a manufacturer or probably to various manufacturers that refine and process them into a finished products.

Afterward, it goes to a distributor that wholesales the finished product, which is next delivered to a retailer. The retailer sells the product in a store to consumers. Once the consumer buys it, this completes the cycle. Now with the demand of that perticular commodity, the supply chain begins again and the process continues.

I am hereby taking an example of a supply chain of potato chips which is as follows:-

The first step in the supply chain of potato chips is raw materials and the gathering of these materials. The main ingredients for potato chips is mainly potato which would come from local farms. The next step is the supplier and the supplier is the firm that would gather potatoes in the first place( Farm). From there the suppliers would ship the potatoes off to the manufacturers.

This is where the conversation will take place from potatoes and other main ingredients ( salts, flavoring, oil ) into potato chips. For example "Frito Lay" and "Tostitos factory" that is responsible for the creation of these chips as well as packaging.

From there, the potatoe chips enter the logistics phase where they are shipped via truck, train, or boat to the retailer. In this case the retailer will be a grocery store, gas station, or possibly cinema halls and sports grounds and stadiums. From here the finished product is sold to the consumers. This is where the cycle completes.
