Please write a critical comment to this short essay in about 150 words...thank you!!!

Poverty is a widespread issue throughout the world, in the United States. I consider us the richest country in the world, yet we are in debt by trillions of dollars. Most Americans live in poverty, because of so much debt and struggling ways to living every day. Some cannot live off their salary or wages. Taxes have gone up through the roof, everyday we are struggling to make ends meet. We are living in a society that allows us to live paycheck to paycheck. In the book The Missing Class written by Katherine Newman and Victor Tan Chen they state that “The missing class is comprised of fifty-seven million Americans including twenty-one percent of the nations children who earn twenty thousand to forty thousand dollars for a family of four”. We might live above this but we trap ourselves in the same predicament for financial needs. Not that we should consider ourselves as poor but were also not the richest. We live comfortably and some don't need the help of the government assistance programs to survive in America. The Missing Class is doing better compared to the homeless population. They are the missing piece to connect whether the American Dream still exists. The United States Census Bureau’s in 2011 reported that they seek about forty million Americans as mediocre. That is fifteen percent of the United States population. Poverty has had a lot of history, and there are many elements that are helping create it. Crime, education, food and health these pieces play a factor in poverty. Most of the homeless population are veterans that served in our military. Why is it that are investing our taxes and creating business and profit for other countries meanwhile we can’t take care of the people fighting for us overseas? I don’t think poverty will ever end, this is because the rich will always stay above the missing class and the poor. In his book “The End of Poverty: How can we make it happen in our Lifetime” written by Jeffrey Sachs one of the world’s experts on economics stated “That the cost to end poverty is $175 billion per year for the next 20 years.” I think it is possible to end poverty but, this would only happen if major corporations and our government will provide help for the poor and the forgotten.

The above case states the dark aspect of United states. Presently United states is seen as the most developed countries of the world. Other countries are trying to follow the footsteps of US. From just a group of 13 colonies to the phase of independence and till now is a story of victory. Technology, industries, education, political assistance to other countries are some of the positive aspects seen. But it has a dark side as well. Inspite if development, poverty is still seen in US. The main reason behind it is the debt issue. On one side, there is development and prosperity and on the other hand many people are struggling to earn in order to feed their families. In order to maintain the development phase, taxes are also high. Stating the pathetic condition of some section of society in US, there is a book written by katherine Newman and Victor Tan Chan. They stated about the missing segments in American society which is almost fifty seven millions. There are cases of some group who earn twenty to forty thousand dollar having four members in their family. But this group can't be termed as rich if not poor also. But these groups doesnot need government assistance also.Poverty is affected by various factors like lack of education. Even though education systrm is good but every group of society cannot afford it.There are some homeless population whose family members are serving the country. Instead of assisting other countries, it is good if government assist these homeless population by providing better food, clothing, healthcare services. Some of the economists like Jeffrey Sachs don't think poverty will end. But it is possible if steps are taken by government to improve the condition of missing and homeless population. It is estimated that it will costs nearly 175 billion dollars to eradicate poverty. In 2015, it was estimated that 13.5 % of population lives in poverty in United states. But there are cases of near poverty also. It was also found that level of loverty7is more in southern side of US. Some steps in the form of social security measures are taken by US government . Expanded unemployment benefits helped 21.3 million people to come outvof poverty in 2011. Still in terms of relative child poverty, US ranks second after Romania. It means child family income is less than the nation's median. Thus more effective steps are required by government and corporations to completely eradicate poverty which is not a one day game.
