We know that from an organizational standpoint, they did some research and development. Their research led them to understand that Japanese consumers like presentation and so they made their pizzas “pretty”. They understood that Indians liked spice and thus used a different spice mix on the pizzas. Even though Domino’s is catering to different tastes, they are not defecting far from the delivery or carry-out method. This is because it simply works for them. I also think they are successful from an organizational perspective in that they are always transforming. I’ve noticed in the last few years they have implemented the $5.99 deal, remodeled their stores, created a mobile app, improved their recipe, and will even replace your pizza if it gets ruined on the way home. This is what other companies can learn from Domino’s. You sometimes have to re-invent the wheel and keep up with what customers want here and now.

Answer #1

It is believed that improvement is a never ending process. Improving the product according to consumer's preferences and needs is the key to make more profits in the business. Making the pizzas pretty because Japanese consumers prefer presentation of the product, making the pizzas spicy because Indian consumers prefer spicy food, These all are the examples of bending the product according to the needs and tastes of consumers. Thus it is said that you need to keep re-inventing the wheel continuously in order to make the customers stay. Regular improvements and changes should be done according to the customers to get better results.
