Generally speaking, marginal utility decreases as the number of units consumed increases. Can you think of a product where this decline in marginal utility is particularly sharp? Why is this?
Marginal utility decreases as the number of units consumed increases.as per diminiushing marginal utility when a consumer consume more and more units of a goods then it will decrease its marginal utility derived from the product.
Example - Icecream.
When we eat one icecream then it can gives positive utility but when we consumed it more and more units then it will gives negative utility .because eating more icecream at a single time can affect our health.we can ill.so it will create negative utility.
Hamburger is also a example of this .a person can eat one hamburger but still he does not consume more quantity of hamburger.
