Answer #1

Soln. Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, provides equal opportunity to all the employers without any discrimination based on sex, color, race, national origin and religion. In the example, mentioned in the question, Amanda Tucker has been given opportunity to appear for the tests, that are needed for sales position in Ames Department store. She was disqualified for the role, only because her performance was not up to the mark as required for the role. This disqualification is not based on any factors of sex, color, race, national origin and religion, as mentioned in the Title VII and hence not the violation of the rights as stated.
