What were the real reasons that coca was taken out of Coca Cola?

Do these reasons mean that cocaine was not or is not harmful?

How then could you still justify the prohibition of Cocaine by the government of the USA

Coca cola was invented in 1885 by John Pemberton of pharmacist from Atlanta,"Coca is a part of beverage's name and "Cola" comes from the kola nut, which contains caffeine. And at the time of the invention of coca cola Konkan was legal for medical uses and, it was thought that it will be not harmful in a little amount. In 1929 public pressure and prohibition against alcohol the company was forced to remove all traces of cocaine. And Coke became a popular soft drink.

It means that cocaine was present there but in early 19s and to use it in a small dose is not harmful as at that time it was illegal for the medical use.
