Actually a political science qurstion,

What do al-Qaeda and ISIS seek to attain through their terrorist campaign? What are the similarities and differences between these two groups? How do they justify targeting of civilians in the Western countries including the September 11th attacks? How do the other Muslims look at their actions and claims that they are engaged in a Jihad?

Answer #1

Al-Qaeda and ISIS main motive is to wage war against people who don't go along with their ideology, however, this ideology is not based upon the true teachings of Islam which says, the true believer is one by whoes hands (actions) and words others are safe. They actually want to create a state of fear, anybody who opposes them wether Muslims or non-muslims is their target. They are not killing people only in the west, they have bombed many places in Asia, Saudi Arabia, Turkey to name some killing number of innocent civillians. The majority of Muslims do not endrose their actions and claims. They always denounce their beliefs and actions done in the name of Islam. They simply look at them as misguided.
