Business process re-enginering aims at cutting down enterprise costs and process redundancies, but unlike other process management techniques, it does so on a much broader scale. Business Process Re-enginering involves re thinking and adapting business processes to achieve higher productivity and increase competetiveness.It experienced a wave of popularity but quickly fell out of favour when the majority of initiatives were unsuccessful. BPR is also known as process innovation and core process redesign - attempts to restructure orwipe out redundancies and remodel process differently. Today, however BPR is resurfacing as a means to adapt in the ever changing landscape of business. With new technologies on the horizon, companies are faced with the reality. They reach a point where they choose to re-engenier. So, Business Proces Re-engeniering is essentially right.
