When one sue a business owned by an individual, then that
individual is an individual defendant. When the business is owned
or say being done by more than one people in partnership then those
all sued in that partnership business are the partnership
defendants. When there is no one as such who owns the business or
say in the case of corporations when the corporations are run by
the board of directors, then, in this case, the corporation is a
corporate defendant.
The federal rule of civil procedure permit encourages narrow
requests and settlements.
