When a network host determine that a packet is intended for a remote network, what does it do with the packets ?
See here clearly given that packet is intended for the remote Network.
So this tells us that the destination of the packet is not in our network and its is in out of our network. Usually switches do switching where as router do routing.
Switching is used to determine and send the packet within
lan...whereas router used to send to other Network.
Router breaks the two Networks.
Now host means any PC.
In a Network if we see that kind of remote packet...
Host sends the data packets to switch then switch checks in its LAN...then after it find its from outer network.so it forwards that to the router.
Then router will check it's routing table then forward the packet to destined Network...This is how a host responds to the data packet from remote destination.
Any doubt please feel free to comment...
Thank you
