Boolean algebra is part of algebra, and is applied to logic and computer science. Each branch of algebra (Regular or Cummulative Algebra., Linear Algebra., Group Theory, Ring Theory, Differential Algebra., Real Algebra., Universal Algebra., Numerical Algebra. etc.) has its own methods, results, and applications, and boolean algebra is no exception. It has a small overlay with Commutative Algebra, since every boolean algebra is commutative, but not much.
