Special importance of rectangular forms: geometry of building are based on boxes, or linked boxes. Used materials are in well-defined planes and vertical forms juxtaposed against horizontal elements.
They can be easily applied in new Zealand by making the buildings in rectangular forms.
Low, horizontal massing, flat roofs:- Modern homes are generally found, and thus many, but not all, have to have meandering one-story plans.
Flat roofs are not suitable for new Zealand beacuse of snow so these can be applied where there would less snow.
Use of modern materials:- Steel columns, concrete block are used as a finished material, concrete floors have good strength and long-span steel trusses give open column-free spaces.
These feature can easily applied by using mordens material like concrete and steel, asbestos etc.
Use of glass and natural light:- Windows arenow generally made of glass, glass providing floor to ceiling, dramatic views and also allowing natural light deep into the interior of homes.
