slump test is the most commonly used method of measuring workability & consistency of concrete.

STEP1: Place the slump cone on plane surface or attaach with attachment given with larger diameter portion downward.

STEP2: Obtain fresh concrete from the concrete mix

STEP 3: Fill one-third of the slump cone and tamp 25 times with a rod. (This is commonly called rodding.)

STEP 4: Fill another one-third of the slump cone and tamp 25 times. Fill the last one-third and tamp 25 times.

STEP 5: Lift the cone.

STEP 6: Measure the slump.
