I'm having trouble determining whether or not some of these are a type of a Black Body or a Line Spectrum. in spectrometry. I understand that black body is the most efficient radiator but can you please tell me if I am correct on this: Black Body: Incandescent Light, Car headlight, sky, neon light, hot stove, green image, red image. Line Spectrum: neon light, street light, fluorescent light., blue image.
Approx colors:
Blue Image: rgb(0, 40, 244)
Green Image: rgb(0, 239, 55)
Red Image: rgb(255, 0, 0)
The classical physics can not explain the spectral distribution of Black Body radiation which can be successfully described by "Planck's Distribution Law".It utilises the concept of quantization of energy and statistical thermodynamics to describe the spectral distribution of Black Body radiation.
Ordinary light have continuous spectrum with no gaps (Incandescent light, Car headlight, sunlight, hot stove, image spectrum (RGB) ) are not Black Body .
Whereas street light, neon light, fluorescent light can be Black Body since they have line spectrum.
