home work chapter 4 chemistry by Trio classify electronic rules and principal the aufbau, Hund's and Pauli

Homework Answers

Answer #1

According to the electronic rules for filling electrons in orbitals,

Aufbau's principle states that the electrons are filled according to increasing energy levels. So a lower energy orbital is filled first before a higher energy orbital.

Hund's rule states that pairing of electrons will not start until all the orbitals of equal energy are half filled. the pairing energy is higher than filling orbitals singly.

Pauli's exclusion principle states that no two electron in an atom can have all four quantum numbers the same.
