Where

y = absorbance

x = Concentration

So for absrobance 0.226 the concentration will be

y = 2.182 x + 0.968

0.226 = y = 2.182 x + 0.968

The equation is not possible

(i) Either the given unknown concentration = 1.226

(ii) Or the given value is of absorbance not concentration

(i) for first case

1.226 = 2.182x + 0.968

x = 0.118 M [the concentration of unknown]

(ii) for second case

y = 2.182 X 0.223 + 0.968 = 1.454 = absorbance
