High priority please!
I need balanced equation and theoretical yield for
the reaction of 5.0280g of thiourea in 25ml hot water, with 1.0128g
of copper turnings. Then all treated with 5ml HCl gas (conc), left
on steam bath for liberation of H2, and then formation of
Tris(Thiourea)copper(I)Chloride.
Equations I have right now are:
2Cu(s) + 2HCl(aq) ----> 2Cu+(aq) + 2Cl - (aq) + H2(g)
Cu+(aq) + 3 Thiourea (aq) --> Cu (Thiourea)3+ (aq)
When all H2 gas has liberated, and copper turnings have reacted
with Thiourea, the Cl- in the aqueous soln. attaches to forms the
complex, [Cu(SC(NH2)2)3]Cl
Please provide one balanced eqn,and theoretical yield.
Thanks alot.
