Comment on molar heat value for strong acid compared to literature value
the literature value says that enthalphy of
neutralisation is 57.1 KJ/mol for strong acid and stong base
reaction irrespective of strong acid or strong base being
used.
This is because it is assumed that strong acid and strong base are
completely ionised in solution and hence net reaction is
only,
H+ + OH- --> H2O
But is reality all strong acid ot base are bnot completely ionized and some energy is required to ionize them . Thus actuall enthalphy of neutralisation is little less than 57.1 KJ/mol
