Question

Question 18 Part A Which has the largest atomic radius? Mg Be Sr Ca

Question 18

Part A

Which has the largest atomic radius?

Mg
Be
Sr
Ca

Homework Answers

Answer #1

largest atomic number is Be

Be>Mg>Ca>Sr

because Be have 4+ protons and Mg have 12+ protons

so in case of Be 2 electrons are staying in first energy level and remaining 2 are staying in 2nd energy level

in case of Mg 2 electrons are staying in first energy level and remaining 10 are staying in 2nd energy level.

why Be is heigher than Mg?

Be have less electrons so less +ve it self, in case of Mg having much positive it self so it is move from left to

right cross periodic table atoms get smaller
