For 316 stainless steel relevant structure characteristics which may include porosity, composite structure, atomic crystal structure, molecular formula, molecular weight
For 316 Stainless Steel the characteristics are:
1. Molecular composition Fe, <0.03% C, 16-18.5% Cr, 10-14% Ni, 2-3% Mo, <2% Mn, <1% Si, <0.045% P, <0.03% S with a density of 8.03 gm/cm3.
2. Porosity( varying with grades used) : From 32 to 58 percent by volume.
3. Tensile strength between 100-140 MPa
4. Crystal Structure: It has a characteristic FCC or Face-Centered Cubic structure, which has one atom at the corners of the cube and one at each face center.
