When creating alum, how can you tell alum ( KAl(SO₄)₂·12H₂O ) is a compound based on the experiment?
Solution:-
Alums are double salts containing sulphate ion and have similar composition and properties. Some examples for alums are sodium alum, ammonium alum, and chrome alum.
There are 3 main type of alum:-
Potassium alum, KAl(SO4)2·12H2O, also called "potash alum" or simply "alum"
Sodium alum, NaAl(SO4)2·12H2O, also called "soda alum" or "SAS".
Ammonium alum, NH4Al(SO4)2·12H2O.
* alum ( KAl(SO₄)₂·12H₂O ) is a compound based on the experiment
for preparation of Potassium aluminum sulfate dodecahydrate alum :- In this experiment we will prepare an alum KAl(SO4)2·12H2O from scrap aluminum.
So that this alum compound will used in dyeing fabrics, making pickles, making paper and purifying water. so it is depending on the material which is used for preparation of this alum.
