Hi,

Reaction rate can be expressed in terms of any reactants or products and they should be equivalent.

For example, reaction: A >> B. The rate of disappearance of reactant A is equivalent to the rate of appearance of product B. If you have stoichiometric coeffiencients in your chemical equation, you just divide them by their coefficient to "equalize" them. For example, reaction: aA +bB >> cC . The reaction rate expression is

Note that you need to put a negative sign to indicate the reactants.
