New protocols during the COVID 19 period
1. Patients should be provided with beverages, balanced diet, vitamins A, D, C and zinc as recommended by the physician at Covid-19 centers and hospitals.
2. Detailed technical instructions have also been issued regarding ideal pulse rate, respiratory rate and oxygen therapy for patients,
3. Placement of elbow operated taps & elbow-operated soap dispensers/ hand sanitizer dispensers in OPD and other patient care areas for patients in hospitals
4. Setting up Glass barricaded Flu corners.
5. Modification in sitting arrangements in waiting areas with respect to social distancing.
6. Queue management systems to be appointed
7. Modification in Air ventilation of Hospitals i.e. Central Air conditioning Units
8. complete PPEs should be provided to staff handling BMW.(Bio medical waste)
9. Foot-operated dustbins with lids.
10. Isolated Recordkeeping for COVID-19 BMW.
Hospital report on COVID 19 suspected patients
Reports must include the following points:
1. Number of suspected patients reporting
2. Number of COVID- 19 test conducted
3. Number of positive and negative reports
4. Age (infant, child, adult and elderly) and gender of patients
5. Medical history related to allergies, cardiac diseases, hypertension, diabetes, Pregnancy etc
6. Symptoms encountered with their severity
7. Treatment status (Yes/No)
8. Hospital stay duration
9. Patient outcome
10. Recommendations for further action to patients
11. Instructions for home-quarantine
New guidelines from MOH on COVID 19 workplace procedures
1. Practice frequent handwashing for at least 20 seconds from soap or alcohol based hand sanitizers
2. Respiratory conducts should strictly followed which includes stringent practice of covering mouth and nose while coughing/sneezing with a tissue/handkerchief/flexed elbow and proper disposing of used tissues
3. Use of Mask
4. Maintaining social distancing
5. Minimize the use of pantry and cafeteria
