Challenges of exposure assessment as they relate to environmental epidemiology:

1) Exposure to chemical and physical agents generate a wide range of undesirable health consequences in the surroundings.

2) Environmental epidemiology challenges to determine whether a hazard exists that is, whether there is a relation between exposure to certain chemical or physical agents and difficult health effects and to evaluate and distinguish the exposure-response relationship.

3) It is related to the factors which are out of control of individuals. This is difficult for assessment.

4) The assessment of exposure deals with the assessment of many smaller or micro interrelated exposures, which is difficult.

5) This exposure involves various levels such as , Micro level, individual level, population level and ecosystem level, which forms it more challenging.
