in white blood cells, what contribute to phagocytes?
In white blood cells, the cells have the ability to engulf the foriegn pathogen or microorganism or the dead cells or cell debris, process is knwon as pogocytosis and such cells are known as phagocytes, these cells are:
1. Monocytes : They are the professional phagocytic cell present in blood and normally represent roughly 1 to 10 percent of the circulating WBC population. They are produced in bone marrow from hematopeitic stem cell.
2. Neutrophills : These are polymorphonuclear leukocytes (PMNs) that acts as professional phagocytic cell and they are most abundant white blood cells (WBCs) in the circulation, accounting for roughly 50 to 70 percent.
3. Dendritic cells: These are also the professional antigen presenting phagoctic cells that process and present the antigens to the T helper cell after the phagocytosis of pathogens.
