Ans. Natural calamities including floods and earthquake cause sudden and large scale death of individuals. This is the major cause of death of individuals in a population. Therefore, it causes variations in survival rates within the population. On the other hand, epidemic of a dreadful disease cause fatalities in a population and hence causes changes in the birth rate and survival of individuals in a population. Human made destruction of forest leads to loss of habit of animals and leads to reduction in carrying capacity thereby reducing survival and birth rate.
