What are the 4 structural levels of proteins? Which one is the final 3D structure?
The structure of protiens is Complex which can be devided into 4 levels of organisation:-
1- Primary structure : the lenear sequence of aminoacids forming the backbone of protiens.
2- secondary structure : the spatial arrangement of protiens by twisting of the polypeptide chain.
3- Tertiary structure : The three dimensional structure of a protiens.
4- Quarternary structure : Some of the protiens are composed of two or more polypeptide chains referred to as subunits . The spatial arrangement of these subunits is known as Quarternary structure.
- A majority of the protiens are composed of single polypeptide chains. Some of the protiens , however, consists of more than one polypeptide.
As majority of protiens are composed of single polypeptide chains , so i think the final 3D structure should be ''Tertiary structure".
Hopefully it helps if problems arises plz comment thanks.
