1) Onora O' Neill suggests that the individual autonomy which was most important in the field of bioethics are philosophically and ethically inadequate. She is of the view that the individual autonomy in its present form undermine rather than building trust. She advocates individual autonomy for trust in bioethics. Examples include use of genetic information by police and research using human tissues.
2) If we were trying to convince a patient in a developing world about the trustworthiness of western doctor, we should emphasis on transparency in research and treatment, following of standard protocols for treatment, presence of strict laws for monitoring of research, and providing monetary benefits in case of any mishaps.
