The virus spread through body fluids or blood
It occurs when healthcare workers injure themselves with a sharp contaminated object, like a needle, blade or other sharp medical instrument and can be transmitted by needles ,dentist's tools etc.
Precautions that needs to be taken:
a)HBV vaccination of anti-HBs-negative healthcare staffs should be made mandatory.
b)Use of soap and water is recommended whenever coming in contact with body fluids, or blood is on hands.
c)Health workers should be trained to eliminate unnecessary injections, eliminate needle, recapping and disposing of the sharp tools into a sharps container immediately just after their use.
d)Use of sanitisers after waering gloves and before wearing gloves
