Plant name was Rice .

Rice is being genetically modified in the movie.

Golden rice is genetically modified in order to produce beta carotene, which is not normally produced in rice. Beta carotene is convereted into Vitamin A when metabolized by the human body.

I am agree with this because according to the movies narration every year 2n half million people die because of Vitamin A deficiency.

Golden rice is the only solution because in Asia region most of the people like to have rice ,if the rice contain vit A then problem of blindness could be reduced.
