The nucleoside biosynthetic pathway should have a lot of input of the energetic yield that should be produced from the organism. If the nucleosides are directly supplemented in the medium then the energy used for the production of nucleotides will be reduced and also during the replication cycle the production of nucleosides within the organism is increased as it is directly being up taken from the surrounding medium. Hence due to these factors the organism is able to reach stationary phase faster when they are supplemented with nucleosides and grow a little slower when not supplemented.
