He uses it for a few weeks with good effect, however, after two months he starts to complain of anxiety, insomnia, and excessive sweating. His doctor diagnoses him with a drug-induced hormonal imbalance and warns him that withdrawing amiodarone will not immediately resolve the problem due to a long wash-out period. Explain i) why Hagrid would experience the hormonal imbalance, and ii) why the wash-out period will be long.

Amiodarone is a drug which is used for anti-arrhythmic treatment, it helps to cure heartbeat problems so faster, it but have serious side effects like lung problems, hormonal imbalance, chest pain, vision problems, liver problems, nerve damages, insomnia, anxiety, etc. Amiodarone will leads to hormone imbalance, it will inhibit thyroid hormone and prevent the flow of homones into tissues.

2. Amiodarone has long washout peroid because, this drug is more fat soluable and it get gathered in the body for long time even the person stop using it. As a result its side effect will continue for months, even after we breake the continuity.
