deacribe two advantages of the normal vertebral curve

Homework Answers

Answer #1

Ans- The advantages of normal vertebral curve are as follows-

1. Firstly, proper curvature gives spine it's flexibility and support. The offsetting curves of each section creates a spring like structure, enabling the spine to act as a natural shock absorber. It it were straight up and down, it would take tremendous wear and tear from constant vibration and shock, creating fractures and worse.

2. Secondly, it aids in weight distribution and offsets the weight of gravity. Each curve in the vertebral column serves to distribute weight evenly throughout the area, where different muscle groups can bear the burden of balance and stability. This is true in dynamic movement.Lifting, bending, turning, and more all require spine to move in tandem with the rest of your body and also supporting yweight and the energy transfer created by your actions.

Another type of distribution is the normal curve or sometimes called the bell curve. If a distribution has a normal curve, it is symmetrical with most of the probabilities located near the mean. Many test scores are based on a bell curve. An example of a bell curve is population IQ. The mean of the population is 100 with a standard deviation of 15. For this week's discussion, do a little research and share another real life example of a...
