Why are headache, nausea, vomiting, confusion, non-responsive/dilated pupils, shallow breathing, increased blood pressure are indicators of ICP?
ICP - increased intracranial pressure
It may be due to increased amount of CSF in brain , swelling of brain tissue .
It may be a result of brain injury , or it can cause a brain injury.
headache, nausea, vomiting, confusion, non-responsive/dilated pupils, shallow breathing, increased blood pressure are seen in ICP.
beacuse too much CSF can cause pressure on some parts of brain which cause head ache.
The pressure transmitted to vomiting cente , area prostrema which is the cause of nausea and vomiting in ICP.
Compression of oocculomotor nerve by incus impares the parasympathetic nerve travel along the periphery of oocculomotor nerve , inactivation of these parasympathetic nerve causes pupillary dilation
High blood pressure is due to decreased brain perfusion. Blood preesue is increased toatain brain perfusion but it furthe increases the intracranial pressure.
