Describe the mechanisms by which the body monitors and reacts to increased carbon dioxide production (for example, increased metabolism during exercise). How does this reflex remove the excess carbon dioxide?

Answer #1

A high level of carbondioxide can cause the rapid breathing and confusion. Some people who have respiratory failure may become very sleepy or lose consciousness.they may also have irregular heartbeats.celluar respiration that occurs in your cells to creat energy, when you are exercising your muscle cells are creating ATP to contract. Cellular respiration requires oxygen (Which is breathed in) and creat carbon dioxide (Which is breathed out). A waste product of aerobic respiration is carbon dioxide. Carbon dioxide must be removed from body. It makes the blood dangerously acidic. oxygen and carbon dioxide enter and leave the blood by diffusion through lining of the lungs.

Coal, which is mostly carbon, is burned in power plants in the Midwestern United States. Most coal contains some Sulfur (S8) which is ultimately responsible for some acid rain in the eastern United States. Here's how: 1. Sulfur burns in the presence of Oxygen to create sulfur dioxide gas. 2. Sulfur dioxide gas is converted into sulfur trioxide gas when combined with oxygen in a synthesis reaction known as photooxidation (powered by the rays of the sun). 3. Sulfur trioxide...
